The AGM of the EOA took place on 31st January 2015. For the last few years the venue for this event has been The Queen Victoria PH in Theydon Bois, Essex. However this year the pub was closed for refurishment and change of mangement so we had to find an alternative venue. We had chosen Theydon Bois for its fairly central location and easy access by road and rail so we booked The Bull in Theydon Bois; a shot in the dark as we were unable to investigate its suitability in person. The only slight drawback was the limited parking, however the pub is situated much closer to the railway station and parking there was plentiful, with just a short walk to The Bull.
In the event we were not disappointed, it turned our to be a splendid venue, we were made very welcome, the food was excellent and there was plenty of it! The meeting was well attended, several trophies were presented and the business of the day was despatched in good order leaving plenty of time for social interaction. The President’s raffle raised just over £55, which has been donated as usual to the Walton and Frinton branch of the RNLI in recognition of services rendered to one of our members.
A full report of the AGM and a list of trophy winners will be published in the Spring Bulletin and sent to members.
